“How much does professional video production cost in St. Augustine?”
If you’ve started looking into professional video production for your business, one of the first questions you probably have is pretty simple:
How much is this actually going to cost?
The frustrating answer is that video production pricing can be all over the place. You might find someone willing to shoot a quick video for a few hundred dollars, while a larger production company could quote $10,000 or more for what sounds like a similar project.
So, what should a business in St. Augustine realistically expect to spend?
For most professional video production projects in the St. Augustine area, you’re generally looking at somewhere between $500 and $5,000+. Larger commercial productions can easily go beyond that, but most local businesses don’t need a massive production crew, cinema cameras, or a five-figure advertising budget to create great content.
The biggest factor is simply what you’re trying to create.
A Quick Content Shoot: Around $750–$1,500
Not every business needs a full commercial.
Sometimes you just need someone to come out for a couple of hours, capture your business, get some good footage of your team or a project, and turn it into content you can actually use.
This type of shoot is great for things like:
Instagram Reels
Facebook videos
TikToks
Website content
Project showcases
Before-and-after videos
Short advertisements
Professional photos
For a smaller shoot like this, you can typically expect pricing to start around $750 to $1,500.
This is probably the sweet spot for a lot of contractors, restaurants, dealerships, service businesses, real estate companies, and other local businesses around St. Augustine.
You don’t necessarily need an elaborate commercial. You need good-looking content that makes your business look professional and gives people a reason to stop scrolling.
Promotional and Brand Videos: Around $1,500–$5,000
Once you start getting into larger productions, the price naturally goes up.
Maybe you want a polished video for your homepage. Maybe you want to tell the story of your company. Maybe you want interviews with the owner, drone footage, several locations, customer testimonials, or multiple versions of the video for different platforms.
That requires more filming, more equipment, more planning, and considerably more editing.
For those types of projects, $1,500 to $5,000+ is a pretty normal range.
A project might include:
A 60–90 second company video
Owner or employee interviews
Customer testimonials
Drone footage
Professional audio
Multiple filming locations
Several social-media cutdowns
Professional photography
Different versions for your website, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, or paid advertising
The important thing to remember is that you're usually not just paying for the final two-minute video.
There may have been an entire day of filming behind it, hours of editing, audio work, music licensing, color correction, equipment, travel, planning, and multiple revisions before you ever see the finished product.
Commercial Productions Can Go Much Higher
If you're talking about a true commercial production with actors, multiple crew members, scripted scenes, lighting setups, location rentals, extensive equipment, or several days of filming, the numbers change quickly.
Those projects can easily reach $5,000, $10,000, $15,000 or more.
That doesn’t mean you need to spend that much to get a great video.
It simply means there’s a major difference between sending one videographer to film your business for an afternoon and producing a full-scale television commercial.
For most small and midsize businesses in St. Augustine, there’s a lot of room in between.
What Actually Determines the Price?
There are a handful of things that have the biggest impact on what a video production will cost.
Filming time is one of them. A two-hour shoot is obviously going to cost less than filming for an entire day.
Editing is another big one. A straightforward Reel can be edited fairly quickly, while a polished brand video with interviews, music, graphics, sound design, and multiple camera angles takes considerably more time.
Then you have things like:
Drone footage.Aerial footage can completely change the look of a video, especially for construction companies, real estate, marinas, outdoor businesses, resorts, and businesses around the St. Augustine coastline.
Photography. If you're already paying to have someone come out and capture your business, adding professional photos at the same time can often make a lot of sense.
Interviews.Capturing good interviews means microphones, lighting, additional cameras, and more editing afterward.
Number of finished videos.Sometimes the smartest approach isn't creating one video. It's filming once and turning that footage into ten, twenty, or even thirty pieces of content.
That can dramatically improve the value of the shoot.
More Expensive Doesn't Automatically Mean Better
This is something that's worth talking about.
A $10,000 video isn't automatically going to generate more business than a $1,500 video.
Beautiful cinematography is great, but the video still has to accomplish something.
Who is watching it?
Where are they watching it?
What are you trying to get them to do?
Is this going on your homepage? Instagram? Facebook? YouTube? A Meta ad? Google? A sales presentation?
Those questions matter just as much as what camera is being used.
My background is in marketing, so I tend to look at video production a little differently. I'm not only thinking about whether a shot looks good. I'm also thinking about how the business can actually use the content once we're finished.
Sometimes that means creating one really polished brand video.
Other times it makes much more sense to walk away from a shoot with a main video, six short-form videos, twenty professional photos, and enough footage to keep creating content for months.
What Does Video Production Cost at HP Designs?
At HP Designs, professional video production in St. Augustine starts at $350.
From there, projects can scale depending on what you're trying to accomplish.
A smaller business might just need a quick content shoot.
Another company might want a half-day production with interviews, drone footage, photos, several short-form videos, and a polished promotional video.
And another business may need ongoing content every month.
That's why I don't believe video production should be completely one-size-fits-all.
There are starting packages to give businesses an idea of what things cost, but the production can be customized around what you actually need.
I would rather figure out how you're going to use the content first and build the shoot around that than sell you a bunch of things you don't need.
So, How Much Should You Budget?
If you're a business in St. Augustine considering professional video, a good starting point would be:
$500–$1,000 for smaller content shoots and short-form videos.
$1,500–$5,000 for larger promotional videos, interviews, drone footage, photography, and more complete content packages.
$5,000+ for larger commercial productions with more complicated filming requirements.
There will always be projects above and below those numbers, but that's a realistic idea of what professional video production can cost.
The bigger question isn't necessarily “How much does a video cost?”
It's: “What kind of content can we create with this budget, and how can we get the most use out of it?”
